Oil-based ballpoint tips (Obi)

  • The most traditional and popular style of tip, in use for over 60 years
  • A modern take on the traditional tip, available in a wide range of shapes, sizes, and materials — more than 700 models
  • Suitable for use with standard oil-based inks
  • Suits almost all writing styles, from fine Asian scripts to heavy-set Roman scripts
  • Available in brass, brass nickel-plated, nickel silver, and stainless steel
  • Stainless steel and tungsten carbide materials are used for the ball
  • Ball diameters from 0.50 to 1.20mm, or larger on request

Oil-based gel tips (Obg)

  • Used with low-viscosity inks, resulting in a smooth, gel-like writing feel
  • More suited to South Asian and East Asian writing needs and styles
  • Made primarily from nickel silver, with a tungsten carbide ball
  • Ball diameters of 0.60, 0.70, 0.80, and 1.00mm

Gel tips

  • A recent development from Japan, designed specifically with East Asian writing styles in mind
  • Water-based gel inks allow a wide variety of brilliant color shades and intensities for stylized expression
  • Designed for use in stick and retractable (spring-gel) gel pens
  • Available primarily in stainless steel, as well as nickel silver
  • Ball diameters from 0.40 to 1.00mm

Every stage — pre-production, production, and post-production — is monitored and assessed.

Blanking

Wire coils are cut to length according to customer parameters.

Deburring and centrifuging

Specially formulated solutions and cleaning solvents remove burrs from the blanks.

Machining

Fully automated machining delivers high-volume precision and fast turnaround on customer requirements.

Ultrasonic cleaning

Parts are scrubbed with a liquid solvent to rinse away residue and loosen particulate matter.

Sorting and inspection

Every tip is sorted and inspected, with statistical sampling applied at each stage before release.
